Music in Tahi Rua

Image
Last week on Tuesday we were learning how to keep a beat using percussion instruments. We had lots of fun using the maracas and wooden blocks but our favourite instruments were the triangles and the drum! We sang lots of different songs with our instruments like Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Incy Wincy Spider. It was a great morning! Here are some photos of our class enjoying using the instruments.

Clifford and Geronimo!

Yesterday we had Jump Jam but it was a very special Jump Jam! We had two visitors, Clifford and Geronimo! It was lots of fun and we loved it at the end when we got to meet them. We did some writing about our exciting morning. Our favourite parts where when they gave us high-fives and when Clifford did a dab. Here are some pictures of us meeting Clifford and Geronimo.

Road Safety with Constable Lorena

Image
This week we had a visit from Constable Lorena who taught us all about road safety. On Tuesday we learnt how to stop, look and listen when we cross a road. On Wednedsay we learnt about how to sit safely in a car. Some of the things Constable Lorena told us about were making sure we sit in the back, making sure we have a car seat, and making sure we wear our seat belts and hear them click! Here are some photos of us with Constable Lorena's police car:

Messy time with slime!

Yesterday we had lots of fun making very messy slime. We got it everywhere! On the floor, on our hands, and all over the tables! But we did lots of learning and have done some great writing about it too. One thing we wrote was a poem of descriptive words - check it out when you're next in our classroom!
